Septic Tank Pumping

Regular pumping keeps your system running and prevents backups. Most tanks need service every three to five years, though the right schedule depends on your household size and how much your system gets used. We pump all tank sizes and handle the waste disposal properly.

Why Lexington Septic Services

We Know How Fayette County Septic Systems Work

The soil composition in central Kentucky — the clay-heavy ground around Lexington, the karst terrain in parts of the county, the rolling terrain that affects drainage — all of it matters when you’re diagnosing a septic problem. A technician who knows this region doesn’t have to guess.

We work on all types of systems common in this area: conventional gravity systems, pressure distribution setups, aerobic treatment units, and mound systems installed in areas with high water tables or shallow bedrock. If you’re not sure what type of system you have, we’ll figure it out during the service visit.

Every job starts with a clear quote. We explain what needs to be done and why before any work begins. You won’t see a bill at the end that doesn’t match what you were told at the start.

What Lexington Homeowners Say

★★★★★

We had no idea our tank was due — bought the house three years ago and the previous owners had zero paperwork. They came out, located the tank, pumped it, and told us what condition everything was in. Very thorough.

Margaret H. Nicholasville Road, Lexington
★★★★★

I was selling my house in Versailles and needed a septic inspection fast. They fit me in within two days, gave me a detailed written report, and the buyer’s agent was satisfied. Made a stressful situation a lot easier.

David R. Versailles, KY
★★★★★

We’ve used them twice now for our property out in Georgetown. Both times they were on time, explained everything clearly, and didn’t try to sell us on anything we didn’t need. That’s hard to find.

Common Questions

Septic Service FAQs for Lexington Homeowners

For most homes, every three to five years is the general guideline. That range shifts depending on the size of your tank, how many people live in the house, and day-to-day water usage habits. A four-person household with a 1,000-gallon tank typically lands around the three to four year mark. If you’ve never had the tank pumped or aren’t sure when it was last done, sooner is better than waiting.

The most common ones: drains that are slow throughout the house, gurgling sounds in the plumbing, sewage odors near the tank or drain field area, or patches of unusually green and wet grass above the leach field. Any one of these is worth a call. Caught early, most septic problems are straightforward to address. Left too long, they can turn into much larger issues.

It’s strongly recommended any time you’re purchasing a property with a private septic system. A standard home inspection doesn’t include a detailed septic evaluation. Our inspection looks at the whole system — tank condition, baffles, distribution box, and drain field — so you know what you’re taking on before the sale closes. It’s one of the best ways to avoid an unpleasant (and expensive) surprise shortly after moving in.

Anything non-biodegradable causes problems. That includes wipes (even ones labeled flushable), feminine hygiene products, paper towels, and cooking grease. On the chemical side, harsh drain cleaners, antibacterial soaps in large quantities, and bleach can kill the beneficial bacteria your tank needs to break down waste properly. Garbage disposals also increase the load on your system considerably — worth keeping that in mind if you use one frequently.

A typical residential pumping takes roughly 30 to 60 minutes once we’re on site. If we need to locate the tank first or if access is more involved, add a bit of time. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when we schedule so you’re not left waiting around.

Yes. We service restaurants, retail properties, office buildings, and other commercial accounts throughout the Lexington area. Commercial systems often have larger tanks and more frequent pumping needs, and some businesses require grease trap maintenance as well. We can set up a regular service schedule so you don’t have to track it yourself.
